Feb. 3

The Manitou Springs Police Department responded to a report of motor vehicle theft in the 00 block of El Paso Boulevard. After investigating, officers discovered that this was a domestic dispute.

Property found in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue was turned in.

Officers responded to a domestic violence report in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue, but it was just an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend.

Feb. 4

MSPD stopped a vehicle speeding in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue, then determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI.

Officers were dispatched to check the welfare of a person in the 700 block of Duclo Avenue. When MSPD arrived, they learned the woman had local misdemeanor warrants. She was taken into custody and transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

MSPD stopped a vehicle in the 3600 block of West Colorado Avenue after seeing it in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue, heading east with expired registration. The driver was wanted on a local misdemeanor warrant (DUI), cited for multiple traffic offenses and transported to CJC. The vehicle was impounded.

Feb. 5

Officers responded to an apparent bar fight in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue. Medical personnel evaluated multiple people with wounds; one person was cited for a sex offense and taken to a local hospital.

At 1216 hours, MSPD responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue, where one person had spat on another person. The suspect was cited for harassment and released.

A traffic accident involving two pedestrians and a vehicle occurred at Manitou Avenue and Beckers Lane. One pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and the driver was determined to be at fault.

MSPD assisted the Colorado Springs Police Department by locating a stolen vehicle that was last seen in the Old Colorado City/Manitou Springs area. Suspect information and the vehicle were recovered and transferred to CSPD.

Feb. 6

Officers contacted a transient man known to trespass on private property and behave violently toward others. The officers discovered he had four local misdemeanor warrants; he was uncooperative but was arrested and booked into CJC.

At 1641 hours, MSPD responded to a hit-and-run traffic accident near the Washington Bypass and westbound U.S. Highway 24.

After receiving a call for service about possible loitering, officers located a person sitting in the Post Office lobby with no legitimate business with the USPS. The suspect was cited for trespassing on government property and escorted out.

Feb. 7

MSPD responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 100 block of Crystal Park Road. Limited suspect information was available.

Feb. 8

While investigating a vehicle theft in the 2900 block of West Colorado Avenue, officers came in contact with a woman with an out-of-county misdemeanor warrant. She was booked into CJC.

A juvenile was involved in a family disturbance in the 400 block of El Monte Place.

Feb. 9

A juvenile was involved in a sex offense (fondling a child) in the 00 block of Via Maria Theresia.

MSPD located a driver suspected to be under the influence of alcohol in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue. He was arrested and taken for testing, then officers gave him a ride home and released him with a citation.
