A woman reported a fraud; the Manitou Springs Police Department is still investigating.
Officers responded to a family disturbance in the 00 block of Mountain View Road. While on scene, they determined that one person was a danger to himself and he was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Jan. 20
A domestic dispute was reported in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue. Officers placed one person on a mental health hold.
Jan. 21
MSPD located a suspicious vehicle near South 31st Street and West Colorado Avenue. The driver drove away, but the officers were able to locate the vehicle and note its license plate number; it did not match the vehicle it was on. MSPD attempted to stop the vehicle, but it sped away and the officers didn’t pursue it.
Officers responded to a possible burglary in progress in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue. When they arrived, they learned that the dispute was between neighbors and one person had a local felony warrant. She was transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
MSPD searched for a man wanted on felony and misdemeanor warrants from multiple agencies. He was taken into custody in the 400 block of El Paso Boulevard and transported to CJC after being medically cleared at a hospital.
Jan. 22
Officers stopped a vehicle with a defective headlight in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. They discovered the vehicle had a fictitious license plate and the driver had no proof of insurance.
Jan. 23
A juvenile-related incident occurred in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue.
MSPD stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Plainview Place. The male driver fled on foot and was not apprehended, but has been identified. The vehicle was towed; a large number of items were found inside and identified as being stolen. A summons was issued.
Officers responded to a hotel in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue, where a domestic violence incident had been reported. They interviewed the victim and witnesses and learned that the suspect had struck the female victim multiple times before driving away. He is being sought.
Jan. 24
At 1212 hours, MSPD stopped a vehicle in the 3300 block of West Colorado Avenue. The driver had local misdemeanor warrants and was taken into custody.
Officers responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue and encountered a man who appeared to be in emotional distress and psychosis. He had exhibited violent behavior previously in similar circumstances and was making threats to do so again. MSPD placed him on a 72-hour mental health hold.
MSPD stopped a vehicle near West Colorado Avenue and Ridge Road. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was cited.
Jan. 26
A juvenile was involved in an assault in the 400 block of El Monte Place.
Officers responded to a non-injury traffic accident at Crystal Park Road and Manitou Avenue. The vehicles were damaged and one of the drivers was cited.
