Manitou Springs city staffers have been updating the Hazard Mitigation Plan since March of 2022 and will host an open house to hear community feedback on the plan draft and how it can be improved.
The open house runs 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Memorial Hall (606 Manitou Ave.) and includes a Q&A session.
Manitou Springs created a Hazard Mitigation Plan in 2017 that was incorporated into Plan Manitou. The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires Hazard Mitigation Plans to be updated every five years, and to comply with FEMA’s regulations and plan requirements.
The plan is available for review starting Jan. 24 on the city’s website.
