Bloom Ultra Lounge soft opened Thursday, Feb. 16 downtown, located at 114 N. Tejon St., #20. That’s the subterranean basement level, which shares hallway access with Shrunken Head Tiki and Bell Brothers Brewing, with stairway access just off Tejon St.
The spot had hoped to be open as early as mid November, 2022, said co-owner Stephon Black when I first interviewed him last October, but common construction/renovation matters delayed that plan.
You can read that story here to learn more about Black and co-owner Colter Lillich, who met more than a decade ago while working in the industry together.
With Bloom, Black told me the goal is to feel like a high-end bar, with fine decor and atmosphere, but not too expensive. He said it’s cocktail-forward, with an EDM soundtrack for dancing, but also serve small plates, fondue and desserts.
I’ll check back with Bloom after they find their footing, later. But meanwhile, I dropped by just long enough to say hello to Black and Lillich and snap the above teaser photo a few hours before they threw open the doors for this long-anticipated soft opening.
